El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer y caracterizar el
deporte espectáculo en España durante el Siglo de Oro. La primera
parte de este artículo está dedicada a contextualizar y justificar
la investigación. En segundo lugar, se expone el método
de investigación utilizado. En tercer lugar, se presentan y analizan
los resultados obtenidos, que demuestran la existencia del
deporte espectáculo en España durante los siglos XVI y XVII. En
cuarto lugar, se comparan los resultados de este estudio con los
obtenidos por otros precedentes. Finalmente, se exponen las
conclusiones de la investigación en las que, a partir de los resultados
obtenidos por ésta y otras investigaciones, se sintetizan
las características más relevantes del deporte espectáculo
del Siglo de Oro español.

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this research is to know and characterize
the sport as a show practised during the Golden Age in Spain.
The first part of this research is devoted to its justification and
setting in context. The second part puts forward the research
methodology suggested. Thirdly, the results obtained in the research
are presented and analysed, showing the existence of the
sport as a show in Spain during the XVIth. and XVII.th. centuries.
Fourthly, the results are compared with other contributions
from previous researches.
Finally the research conclusions are expounded, in which,
from the results obtained and other researches, the most important
characteristics of the sport as a show during the Spanish
Golden Age can be extracted.
